Russia's war with Ukraine will result in "total failure" and could spark the threat of international conflict, an FSB whistleblower has claimed in a leaked report. An anonymous FSB official reportedly leaked the document which revealed the intelligence agency was left in the dark over Russia's invasion of Ukraine and was unprepared to deal with the crippling sanctions that followed. The Federal Security Service, or FSB, is the main successor agency to the Soviet-era KGB.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday stressed that Moscow did not want war over Ukraine, and called for resolving discussions over Kyiv's bid to join NATO "right now". After meeting German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at the Kremlin, Putin said Russia had put forward proposals during weeks of diplomatic attempts to resolve tensions which had not received "substantial constructive response".
